Religion Mandates Public Beheadings by Saudis (March 2000)
Increasing numbers of public beheadings are taking place under Islamic Law.
Prince Nayef, the Interior Minister claimed:
"The kingdom derives its knowledge and dealings of human rights from the holy
Koran and the teachings of the prophet. Our position cannot be changed by
frantic campaigns and dubious voices, whether raised through organizations,
countries or individuals"
There are over 100 executions per year in a population or less them 20 million. This would be equivalent to over 300 public executions in the UK if the same barbaric laws were applied.
Catholic Church Complicit in Rwanda Genocide -April 1998
Following Rwanda's 1994 genocide more than 20 nuns and priests
of complicity in the killing spree which led to half a million deaths. Two
priests were convicted and sentenced to death last year.
The government believes the Catholic church was complicit, through its silence,
in the 90-day slaughter. Most of the victims were hacked to death in churches,
where they had sought refuge, often with complicity of priests and nuns. The
Vatican is the only church that has failed to apologize for its role in the
genocide. It has said only individuals can be held responsible.
