Joe Jordan a Roman Catholic priest has been jailed for a total of eight years at Cardiff crown court for sex offences on boys in his care. This Roman Catholic Priest confessed to six charges of indecent assault committed between February 1987 and February 1989. He has been sentenced to four and a half years for offences on two nine-year-old boys and in a separate trail a further three and a half years were added for similar offences. He stored hard porn including 500 images of children on a computer at his church. Furthermore, the court learned that the church authorities had been made aware of Jordan's paedophile activities before appointing him to his present post.

In 1987 Linda Baisi, who at the time was a Roman Catholic nun in a Bronx Catholic school sexually assaulted a twelve-year-old boy student and continued to do so over a five year period. Brian O'Rourke, now 25 says the sexual relationship continued over a five year period. Baisi was making nightly visits to Baisi's apartment. Classmates regularly teased O'Rourke about his close ties to his teacher. School and parish officials ignored the obvious signs that the abuse was taking place.

Over the past decade the Santa Rosa Diocese and its insurers have paid out at least $6 million in settlement fees to victims of sexual abuse by priests. A monsignor, convicted of molestation, is in prison; one priest fled the country after repeated molestation charges; another committed suicide. Recently a former diocesan priest and youth ministry leader was charged with rape and committing lewd acts against minors in a series of complaints dating back several decades.

Rudoloh Kos, DALLAS
A suspended Catholic priest has been indicted on eight sexual-abuse charges involving four young men who told police they were molested more than 1,350 times. Rudoloh Kos was indicted by a Dallas County grand jury and was denied a decrease in his $400,000 bond on Friday. The charges allege that Kos abused the boys -- ranging from ages 12 to 16 -- from the late 1980s to the early 1990s, when he was a priest at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Irving. Two of the young men told police that Kos molested them as many as 400 times each. One told police that Kos molested him 550 times over seven years. Kos was indicted on three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, one count of sexual assault of a child and four counts of indecency with a child. The aggravated sexual assault charges carry up to a life sentence and $10,000 fine on each count.

St. Mary's Home for Boys
Seven more Oregon men have come forward claiming that a priest sexually molested them and physically abused one of them when they were children at three Catholic parishes and at St. Mary's Home for Boys. In total, 10 men, ages 39 to 61, are part of a second amended lawsuit filed Thursday in Multnomah Circuit Court. Each seeks $2 million in general damages and $750,000 in economic damages against the Rev. Maurice Grammond, the Archdiocese of Portland, St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sublimity, Portland's Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Seaside's Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and St. Mary's Home for Boys. They claim sexual battery of a child, negligence and breach of fiduciary duty. The suit says the archdiocese and St. Mary's knew that Grammond had sexually molested the children, who were altar boys, but didn't address it or notify other parishioners. For that, each plaintiff seeks $1.3 million in damages. The first man filed suit against Grammond in December. A month later, two more joined. Since then, seven others have come forward. Most of the plaintiffs are originally from Seaside, where Grammond was assigned for 17 years.

1984, Louisiana USA. Fr. Gauthe sentenced to 20 yrs. for molestation of more than 100 boys, 1971-83, aged 7 to 9. His paedophilia had been known since his first year as priest, yet his superiors transferred him whenever scandal threatened to become public.

1988, Newfoundland's best-known priest, Fr. Hickey, convicted of 32 sex crimes involving boys. The local vicar had known about Hickey since 1975, but had done nothing.

1988, Newfoundland. Fr. Corrigan jailed for 7 offences against boys aged 10 to 13.

1988, Lancashire, England. Congregational Church Minister Garvock convicted of raping 4 yr. old girl.

1988, Winchester, England. 2 Anglican vicars, a choir master, a solicitor, and an already convicted molester jailed on 21 charges of sexually abusing boys at church outings, YMCA and churchyard.

1989, Newfoundland. Fr. Bennet pleads guilty to 36 charges of paedophilia. His Archbishop had known about him since 1979.

1990, Taupo, New Zealand. Fr. Brown jailed for indecent assault on 2 altar boys, 1980 to 1986. The Hamilton Diocese Archbishop states that Brown could be assigned other duties when released, and describes him as "a very compassionate man".

1990, Minneapolis USA. Rev. Adamson admits paedophilia since 1961, in a lawsuit brought by a young man who had been abused by the priest 1979-87. Adamson was joined in the abuse in 1984 by a nun. The Archdiocese had known of Adamson's paedophilia.

1990, Solihull, England. Pentecostal Minister D. Stenhouse jailed on 5 charges of indecent assault on boys aged 12 to 15.

1991, Newfoundland. 9 Christian Brothers charged with sexual and physical abuse of boys in their care at Mt. Cashel orphanage.

1991, Minneapolis USA. Rev Thurner admits sexual abuse of a boy. The Archdiocese had known of his paedophilia since 1982.

1991, Ontario, Canada. Rev. Pappi convicted of 2 charges of 'sexual interference' of two 13 year old boys.

1991, England. Baptist Minister Ashby Breneman jailed for molesting 6 boys at his Christian Youth camp.

1991, Arlington USA. Fr. Chleboski charged with 6 counts of molesting a 13 yr. old boy, student of Our Lady of Victory School.

1988-1991, New Orleans USA. Fr. Cinel is discovered to posses huge collection of child pornography, including 160 hrs. of homemade videotapes depicting himself - and his dog - in homosexual acts with boys. After a public outcry, the Catholic DA reluctantly charges Cinel with 60 separate counts of possessing child porn, in 1991.

1991. Civil suit brought against Ferrario, Bishop of Honolulu for sexual abuse, 1972-1982, by David Figueroa, who states he had been abused by priests since 1964, when he was 5.

In all, this represents over 230 examples.
